About Us

Meow Dyer Cat Rescue, Inc. is a boutique, foster-based nonprofit rooted in Leonardtown, Maryland — created to give cats not just a second chance, but the right chance.

Born from the heart behind Meow Dyer Cat Café, our rescue exists for the cats who need a little more — more time, more care, more patience, more understanding.

​

We provide medical care, thoughtful socialization, and responsible adoption placement for cats and kittens in need throughout Southern Maryland. Every cat in our care receives veterinary evaluation, age-appropriate vaccines, spay/neuter, and the individual attention they deserve while living in loving foster homes.

But our vision doesn’t stop at adoption.

Our long-term goal is to grow into a sanctuary-style rescue space with multiple rooms designed to safely house cats who cannot thrive in a traditional café setting — including FIV+ cats, medically complex cats, and those who simply need a quieter environment. These cats are still adoptable. They are still worthy. They just need the right setting to shine.

We have already welcomed our first sanctuary cat, Roman, whose journey reminds us why this work matters. Some cats need forever homes. Some need lifelong protection. We are committed to both.
