Catsociate Job Description
Are you a cat-loving superhero with a heart of gold? If you’re outgoing, compassionate, and think every day is “Caturday,” then Meow Dyer Cat Cafe wants you! We need folks who can pamper our rescue kitties and serve our customers with a smile (and maybe a cat pun or two). If you’re ready to help us with everything from retail marketing to scheduling paws-itively fun events, fill out an application! Responsibilities
In addition to the responsibilites listed below, Catsociates are expected to be available to work evenings and weekends, be able to lift 40lbs, be able to learn and use a POS system, and be able to work on their feet the majority of their shift. This is a part time position.
CAT CARE
Catsocaites are responsible for a variety of cat-related responsibilities from scooping litter boxes, feeding cats, introducing new cats to the lounge, socializing new cats, cleaning up accidents, and resolving any other cat behavioral or health issues as they arise. When it comes to caring for our cats, we are ideally looking for people who have previous experience working with cats.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
You are responsible for keeping the store fun, lively, and energetic by engaging with customers about the cats, the business, and everything in between! You will work as part of a team or by yourself to deliver an outstanding experience and consistently provide a friendly, welcoming, and super fun atmosphere.
RETAIL/
CAFE SERVICE
As a Catsociate, you'll play a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our café and retail area. This includes restocking cold drinks in the fridge, ensuring the retail section is organized and well-stocked, and maintaining the cleanliness of the bathroom.
CLEANING
Keeping the cafe organized, clean, and smelling great is one of our top priorities. We understand it is a cat business, but we do not want to hear our customers say it smells like ‘cat’ when they walk in. You are responsible for always keeping the store “first hour clean" by wiping down furniture, throwing away trash, sanitizing litter boxes, sweeping floors, and mopping when necessary. Store presentation and condition is incredibly important, and we want to make sure the cafe is always clean, well put together, and smells amazing. Cleaning (and deep cleaning litter boxes!) is a *huge* part of the job, so if you don't like cleaning, this is probably not the best fit for you.
